Sanaa’s missiles redraw deterrence map in Arab-Israeli conflict

Sanaa forces launched a hypersonic missile, “Palestine 2,” targeting Lod Airport near Tel Aviv, disrupting air traffic and triggering panic in Jerusalem. Hamas praised Yemen’s role, calling its missile strikes a vital part of the resistance against occupation.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Arab-Israeli conflict is undergoing a major shift, as Sanaa forces intensify missile attacks deep into Israeli-occupied territory, marking a new phase in deterrence dynamics imposed by the Axis of Resistance.

On Thursday evening, Sanaa forces launched a hypersonic missile named “Palestine 2”, targeting Lod Airport near occupied Jaffa (Tel Aviv). The attack was described as a direct response to Israel’s starvation policies in Gaza and its aggression on Beirut’s southern suburb.

This strike was not merely symbolic—it disrupted air traffic and forced millions of Israeli settlers to flee from Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards to shelters.

Additionally, the Yemeni missile attack carried significant psychological and propaganda effects, as sirens triggered panic in occupied Jerusalem, prompting settlers to abandon Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards, a moment widely circulated by activists.

Many observers interpreted the strike as a direct message, signaling that Jerusalem is now within reach of Yemen’s deterrence capabilities.

These developments led to a state of high alert in Israeli air defense systems, following the detection of another missile launched from Yemen, highlighting the expansion of the conflict and increased military pressure on Israel, as it remains engaged in prolonged battles in Gaza and Beirut.

In this context, Khalil Al-Hayya, a senior Hamas leader in Gaza, praised Yemen’s role, stating, “We salute our sincere brothers in Yemen who continue to launch missiles despite the challenges they face.”

His statement reflects political gratitude and practical appreciation from Gaza for Yemen’s military support, reinforcing the unity of struggle against occupation.

Yemen’s actions go beyond military retaliation, aiming to redefine the conflict and cement the idea that the battle against occupation is a national struggle, not a factional one.

These strikes also challenge Israel’s security narrative, posing continuous threats to its military institutions, despite the geographical dispersion of resistance forces.

With the development of hypersonic missile capabilities and their strategic timing, Yemen has emerged as a key player in regional deterrence, making its exclusion from the confrontation impossible.
